Last Sigh

Broken hearts,
lost trust,
shattered souls,
fractured bones,
streaming tears,
abandoned feelings.

Just to maintain a picture?
Learn to let go–
no fights,
no arguments,
no second,
or tenth chance.
Not anymore.
Just carry on–
It will be heavy,
at first,
and then lighter.
it gets better.

“As things stand now, I am going to be a writer…”

Poetry and Poise

Sitting here

Merrily saying goodbye

Good riddance

So long

Bye bye

To the times I thought I was nothing

I didn’t deserve anything

That I have nothing to offer

Bye bye

So long

Fare well

Good riddance.

I am a power force

a power house

an amazon warrior

an African Queen

phenomenal woman

phoenix rising

-Coming-not for what my enemies

said I couldn’t have

-but for what I thought I

couldn’t have.

Angry that I let things go so far badly

Furious that I squeezed and snuggled and held my breath-

rounded my sharp square edges to fit into a round hole.

forgot who I am

for a while I tried to be a

mewling cat

but I am a

Coming for what’s mine-

Hold on to what is yours

I might just grab it too!
